Sunday Sessions: Ali Oldroyd, live by the river
Featuring Ali Oldroyd

About the Artist
Derby/Burton-based musician Ali Oldroyd performs solo with guitar, voice, and a loop pedal — building every track live from the ground up. One riff layered over another, vocals stacked in real time, until a single guitar becomes a full room of sound. His range runs from Stone Roses to Amy Winehouse, Lou Reed to Fontaines DC, alongside originals cut from the same cloth.
About This Event
Ali Oldroyd is back at The Brasserie — and if you were here for his debut back in April, you already know why we had to bring him back.
Guitar, voice, and a loop pedal — Ali builds every track live from the ground up. One riff layered over another, vocals stacked in real time, until a single guitar becomes a full room of sound. It's one of those performances where you watch the whole thing being constructed in front of you.
His range runs from Stone Roses to Amy Winehouse, Lou Reed to Fontaines DC, and originals cut from the same cloth. It's the kind of set that suits a Sunday evening by the river perfectly.
Some Sundays are for doing very little, very well. This is one of them.
Ali plays the Brasserie this Sunday, live music in the old mill, right on the banks of the Derwent. Early evening, no ticket, walk-ins welcome. Come down, grab a drink, and let the river do the rest.
The music's free. If you'd like to eat, book a table — riverside Sundays go quickly.
