After serious consideration, we have decided to keep our restaurant closed until further notice, due to the ongoing restrictions brought about by Covid-19. We’re very sorry to disappoint our customers. If you have made a booking, our Restaurant Manager, Corrine, will be contacting you.
Our pop-up takeaway service, Darleys To Go, will remain open, serving snacks, hot drinks, breakfast and lunch options from outside the front of Darleys, near the car park. Keep an eye on our Facebook or Instagram pages for regular updates about this.
As a result of many food outlets now offering takeaway in Darley Abbey Mills, we are working with local councillors and the Derby City Council Street Pride team to come up with solutions to the growing litter problem. We want to do our bit to help keep the area beautiful so we have offered a financial contribution to help pay for more frequent bin collections and/or the installation of larger litter bins. In the short-term, the Street Pride team have already placed black wheelie bins next to the smaller litter bins to deal with the overflow.
Why have we made the decision to close for now?
It’s honestly been made with a very heavy heart, but with tightening restrictions and constant uncertainty, it has become impossible to operate our business without making significant losses.
It’s also become impossible to maintain a friendly, relaxing fine dining experience when we are having to interrogate our customers about their social bubbles and relationships. This is not why we work in hospitality. It is not who we are and it is not the environment we think you deserve when you dine out at Darleys.
When will we reopen?
We will be back as soon as we feel we can offer a safe and enjoyable dining experience. We can’t wait to get back to doing what we are best at! We will keep the situation under constant review and will make further announcements about our reopening plans when we can.
If you have gift vouchers that expire while we are closed, we will be happy to extend these by a further three months from our reopening date.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year. We look forward to seeing more of you in 2021!
